Reggie Banks Born in London, England. Reggie brought soccer to Southern California in the 1960's. He has come to be known as the "Father of Soccer" in Simi Valley, for establishing one of the first youth leagues here. As a young man, Reggie played soccer at the amateur levels, but soon found the need to educate players to the game of soccer here in the southland.

Reggie is a co-founder, and past president, of the El Camino Real Soccer League; a current Board member of the Soccer Foundation; CYSA Hall of Fame; our first Area District Commissioner of CYSA; and is a three time past president of CYSA. He was president of the Western Soccer League, an adult professional soccer league in the western United States. Sigi Schmidt, of the Los Angeles Galaxy, was the coach of the KICKERS (professional team). Reggie is proud to have influenced so many young people. He measures his accomplishments by the success of all his players becoming well rounded citizens.

Tommy Cole Born in Dublin, Ireland, where he played semipro soccer. Tommy brought soccer to Ventura County in 1965, by establishing one of the first soccer clubs. He went on to start the original Valley United Soccer Club, and co-founded the Simi Youth League, along with Reggie.

Tommy is one of the pioneers that established the Southern California Youth Soccer Organization, which is now known as CYSA. He co-founded the Tri-County's Adult Soccer League; is a current Board member of the Soccer Foundation. As a coach, Tommy has enjoyed many successes. One year he was the head coach, or co-coach, to five teams that make it to State Cup finals, simultaneously. Tommy is proud of the many young people that he has influenced in a positive way. In 2001, 100% of his BU19 players went on to college. "A players' education is just as important as their soccer skills."

Swen Schraml, born in Germany moved to Simi Valley at a young age.  I began playing soccer at age 5 in the Simi Valley Youth Soccer League.  At about ten years old I began playing club soccer for Reggie Banks.  I stayed with Reggie until after high school. I was chosen for the Ventura County Select Team and invited to the State Team Tryouts in the early 80’s. This was the pre-cursor to the Olympic Development Program.  I have played competitively and recreationally in various adult leagues ever since.  I’m currently playing in the San Fernando Valley and Ventura County Over 40 League. I graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Business Management from CSUN.
