Reggie Banks Born in London, England. Reggie brought soccer to Southern California in the 1960's. He has come to be known as the "Father
of Soccer" in Simi Valley, for establishing one of the first youth leagues here. As a young man, Reggie played soccer at the amateur
levels, but soon found the need to educate players to the game of soccer here in the southland.
Reggie is a co-founder, and past president,
of the El Camino Real Soccer League; a current Board member of the Soccer Foundation; CYSA Hall of Fame; our first Area District Commissioner
of CYSA; and is a three time past president of CYSA. He was president of the Western Soccer League, an adult professional soccer league
in the western United States. Sigi Schmidt, of the Los Angeles Galaxy, was the coach of the KICKERS (professional team). Reggie is
proud to have influenced so many young people. He measures his accomplishments by the success of all his players becoming well rounded
citizens.
